Adrian was born into a farming family in the Eastern Lowveld of South Africa where his father was a sugar farmer. His father had his own aircraft (Cessna 182 Skylane) as the distances he had to travel were very large. As a consequence. flying became a major part of Adrians life and the aircraft bug bit early and hard! Having completed his secondary education at Michaelhouse in Kwazulu Natal, Adrian was drafted into the South African Airforce where he spent two years compulsory national service. During this time Adrian played cricket for South West Africa and the South African Defence Force. Adrian then spent a season playing county cricket in England before returning to South Africa to study Industrial/Product Design. On completion of his studies he began his working career as a stylist for Volkswagen South Africa. After six years in a corporate environment, Adrian had the opportunity of opening his own airline refurbishing facility which he did in 1996. During this time Adrian completed his private pilots licence and acquired a Cessna T210K Centurion. His love of aviation has taken Adrian and his wife on journeys around the world to places like Oshkosh and many of the manufacturers in the USA like Beechcraft, Bell and the New Piper Company. In the past two years Adrian has specialised in General Aviation art and is fulfilling a life long ambition to portray aircraft in a simple yet detailed manner by means of using the aircraft as the subject with a plain backdrop allowing the viewer the privilege of admiring one of Mans great accomplishments – “The Flying Machine”
